The
historic city of Hull has lots to offer, Steaped in history Hull
thought of by many to be just a fishing village, has done more to
shape the politics and history of the country than you would believe,
not just the home of John Prescott. From its rise as the Roman
Fortified port of Hvll, through the rebelious towns people who
bannished King Charles II from the city, (believed by many to have
started the English Civil War). to presant day still defiant with its
own independant telephone company Kingston Communications with their
distinctive cream phone boxes. Hull is also home to the worlds only
Submarium "The Deep"

The unique
concept of building a shopping centre on stilts over a dissused town
centre dock. On four floors with its own multi story car park. It has
a food court on the harbour deck (water level ground floor), fashion,
music,jewellery and electrical retailers on the 2nd & 3rd decks
and opening shortly a Cinema on the topdeck. |

The
Marshalls Humber Car Collection
One of Hull`s
little known secrets. This truely amazing collection of cars
manufactured by Humber, is the biggest collection of Humber Cars. The
majority of this collection are in regular use as as wedding cars of
distinction, and includes models formerly owned by King Edward VIII,
King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Baroness
Rothschild. Stirling Moss, and cars used in the Buddy Holly film `Oh
Boy` and Robert Mitchum`s `The Big Sleep` some of the cars are
undergoing restoration. |

The Heritage
Fish Trail
Starting
outside The City Hall, the Heritage Fish Trail is a self guided tour
of the Old Town, Marina and Museum Quarter. Your route is marked
along the pavements by specialy designed pavingstones and blocks
depicting many species of fish such as Herring, Cod and Monkfish. |

The Humber Bridge
An amazing
feat of modern engineering. The Humber Bridge is one of the worlds
longest Single Span Suspenion Bridges and took nearly 10 years to
build. With viewing areas on both North and South banks of the River
Humber, The North bank having a picnic area, wildlife and country
park known localy as Little Switzerland because it was formerly a
chalk quarry and the whole area was always white. |

The Museum Quarter
One of the
most exciting developments of its kind , with the Streetlife Museum
of Transport, Wilberforce House, Hull and East Riding Museum and the
Arctic Corsair joining forces to create the ultimate historical
experiance. Located in heart of Hulls Old Town the museum quarter
offers 235 million years of history on one site. |

The very
latest Marine Experiance, Featuring Aquarium, Shark Tank with The
Worlds Deepest Shark Tunnel, and glass lift through the shark tank.

Fort Paull
Fantastic,
Fun, Educational, in a safe freindly enviroment. A few miles to the
east of Hull along the A1033 from the town centre Fort Paull is the
only remaining Napoleonic fortress in Yorkshire and has been turned
into one of the areas newest attractions. Its history is portayed by
waxworks in the mysterious underground vaults and labyrinths.
Artillery, modern and ancient is displayed in authentic settings.
This display also incudes the only remaining working example of a
Blackburn Beverley Transport Aircraft. Presented in conjunction with
The Royal Armouries of Great Britain. It was the Heritage Museum of
the Year winner 2002 |
